Yes. Based on your daily nutrition requirements, macros and exercise levels, you can use Origin Nutrition protein shake as a meal replacement, or anytime during the day. However, for a completely balanced meal, we recommend a good mix of vegetables, good carbs from your favourite fruits and healthy fats like nuts and seeds.
As per the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI), the required amount is 0.8 gms of protein per kg of body weight. But that could differ from person to person based on activity level, age and current health condition. Although 0.8 gms of protein might be sufficient to prevent deficiency in an average sedentary person, your requirement could be higher or lower. Try our Protein Calculator to understand how much protein is best suited to your lifestyle.
Weight loss is about creating a calorie deficit. And that means the total calories you spend in a day should be higher than the total calories you consume. That said, a high-protein diet definitely helps with weight loss. An Origin Nutrition protein shake can keep you satiated through the day, and also energise your evening run!
Vegetarian diets are generally considered healthy due to good amounts of fibre. But they can lack the required amounts of protein as whole foods don’t contain enough quantities. Based on your daily activity levels and lifestyle, vegan protein powders can help supplement your protein requirements, and give you that extra boost through the day.
Regularly consuming non-vegetarian cuisine doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting the right amount of protein. Often the quantities required are much larger. So a tasty protein powder can help most health enthusiasts get their daily nutrition and perfectly complements vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets.
Most Indian households regularly consume foods like soybeans, yoghurt, chickpeas, rajma, peanuts, lentils, mixed seeds and more – all these are rich in protein but may be limited in quantity.
Vegan protein comes from plant materials like pea, soy, rice and others which are first dried and then powdered. Protein is then extracted, processed and filtered to remove other components like fat and carbohydrates. The reduced product is then dried and used in vegan protein powder.
However, not all plant-based proteins are complete – which means not all protein sources contain adequate amounts of all nine essential amino acids. So it’s essential to create a well-balanced diet that provides the right nutrition for you.
A list of ingredients that’s free from toxins, chemical additives, artificial sweeteners, sugar or unnecessary fillers is considered clean protein. Read the label to make sure you’re always making the right choice. Check out our list of ingredients here.
Yes, because our products do not contain any papain or bromelain, there are minimal chances of allergic reactions. However, it is always a good idea to consult with your gynaecologist and health practitioner if you’re introducing new foods or supplements to your diet during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Absolutely. Many non-vegetarians are allergic to milk or lactose. Whey protein contains lactose, while vegan protein is hypoallergenic, which makes it the perfect choice for those with food sensitivities or allergies. It’s also easily digestible as it doesn’t contain any milk or milk products.
Consider proteins as the oil that keeps an engine humming smoothly. They are a macronutrient, made up of long chains of amino acids, which help keep the body in good condition. They help repair damage, improve bodily functions, provide energy or refuel after exercise, build lean muscle or lose weight, and generally keeps you happy. Since the body doesn’t naturally store protein, you’re required to consume it to stay healthy. From your hair to your cuticles, muscles to cartilage, your body smiles with a good dose of clean protein.
Plant-based nutrition is foods derived solely from plants and does not include animal ingredients like meat, milk, eggs or honey.
Yes, but based on their age, they might need smaller quantities. Children also tend to get their required protein amounts from natural sources. So consult with your paediatrician first to make a guided decision for your child.
Yes! Stevia is a natural sweetener and sugar substitute that is derived from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant. It adds the sweetness without the calories.
